This foundation lesson covers consultation, brow mapping and lash design principles. Eye-area services require appropriate training, local compliance and product-specific instructions. Never perform a procedure outside your competence.

1. Consultation first

Ask about the desired result, previous services, sensitivities, contact lenses and relevant eye-area concerns. Explain the process, realistic limitations, aftercare and any product-specific patch-test requirements. Do not promise perfect symmetry or guaranteed retention. Obtain informed consent before beginning.

2. Brow mapping basics

Cleanse the area as appropriate and position the client comfortably. Use a clean mapping tool or disposable applicator. Identify the starting point in relation to the side of the nose, the arch in relation to the iris when looking forward, and the tail in relation to the outer eye corner. These are visual guides, not universal measurements. Natural growth, bone structure and client preference matter. Step back and assess both brows together before removing or tinting hair.

3. Design for balance

Compare height, length, density and direction. Avoid over-removing hair to chase a perfectly identical outline. Mark lightly, show the client and confirm the shape before proceeding. Keep a record only with permission.

4. Lash styling principles

Consider eye shape, natural lash condition, comfort and the client’s preferred effect. A balanced design may use gradual length changes rather than a single dramatic length. Do not apply extensions or chemicals to irritated eyes. Follow the specific adhesive or product instructions, ventilation guidance and professional training. Keep products away from the eye itself.

5. Hygiene and service boundaries

Wash hands, disinfect reusable tools and use fresh disposable applicators. Never share mascara wands or reuse single-use items. Do not perform services where there is active irritation, infection, unexplained swelling or recent eye injury. Stop immediately if burning, pain or vision changes occur and direct the client to urgent appropriate medical assessment.

Practice assignment

1. Draw three brow maps on a practice face chart.
2. Design two lash looks with different levels of definition.
3. Write a five-question consultation checklist.
4. List five reasons to postpone an eye-area service.

Knowledge check

Why is mapping a guide rather than a fixed formula? Because natural facial features and client preference differ. What should happen if eye pain occurs? Stop and seek appropriate medical care.

1. الاستشارة

2. رسم خريطة الحاجب

اجعل العميلة في وضع مريح واستخدم أداة نظيفة أو أحادية الاستعمال. حدد نقطة البداية بمحاذاة جانب الأنف، والقوس بالاسترشاد بموقع القزحية عند النظر للأمام، والذيل باتجاه الزاوية الخارجية للعين. هذه نقاط استرشادية وليست قياسات ثابتة. راعِ نمو الشعر الطبيعي وبنية الوجه ورغبة العميلة.

3. التوازن والتصميم

قارن الارتفاع والطول والكثافة واتجاه الشعر. لا تزل شعراً زائداً لمجرد محاولة جعل الحاجبين متطابقين. اعرض الشكل المحدد واطلب الموافقة قبل البدء.

4. مبادئ تصميم الرموش

راعِ شكل العين وحالة الرموش الطبيعية والراحة والتأثير المطلوب. اتبع تعليمات اللاصق والمنتج والتدريب المهني، ولا تضع المواد داخل العين أو على عين متهيجة.

5. النظافة وحدود الخدمة

اغسل اليدين وطهّر الأدوات القابلة لإعادة الاستخدام واستخدم أدوات أحادية الاستعمال جديدة. لا تشارك فرش الماسكارا. أوقف الخدمة عند وجود ألم أو حرقان أو تورم أو تغير في الرؤية ووجّه العميلة للحصول على تقييم طبي مناسب.
